At CN/IC Employees Credit Union (CN/ICECU), you can be confident that your financial privacy is a top priority, and we recognize the importance of protecting your nonpublic personal information. The law requires that we provide information describing how we protect our members’ privacy, and this publication serves as our “privacy notice”. The words “CN/ICECU, we, our, us and credit union” refer to the CN/IC Employees Credit Union, and the words, “you and your” refer to our members.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AND SHARED:
The types of personal information collected and shared depend on the product or service you have with us. We collect information about you from the following sources:

  • Applications and other forms you provide while setting up an account with us, when you contact us for support, or apply for a loan
  • Information about your transactions or during any authorized transaction
  • Transactions with nonaffiliated third parties
  • Through a web site, web form, during an online or in-person registration, while making an appointment
  • Consumer reporting agencies.

We may disclose all of the information that we collect as described above. When you are no longer our member, we will continue to follow the privacy policies and practices as may be permitted or required by law.

WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED:
We collect personal information in accordance with applicable law. If you seek, apply for, or obtain a financial product or service with us, we will use and share that information we collect from you.

We may also collect personal information when you use our sites, products, and services. This may include your name or other online identifier, home or physical address, telephone number, email address, IP address, website interactions, geolocation, device identifier, keystrokes, the contents of your communications with us, and information from a consumer report about you.

WHO PARTIES TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION:
Service Providers: We may share information with Service Providers who help us administer our website, conduct surveys, provide technical support, process payments and assist in the fulfillment of services.

Legal Obligations: Information may be disclosed in response to subpoenas, warrants, or court orders, or in connection with any legal process or to comply with relevant laws. We may also share your information in order to establish or exercise our rights, to defend against a legal claim, to investigate, prevent or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safely of person or property, or a violation of our policies, or to comply with your request for a shipment of products to or the provision of services by a third-party intermediary.

Other Third Parties With Your Consent: We may disclose your information to other third parties when we have your consent or direction to do so. We recommend you use caution when granting such access and ensure that these third parties have appropriate policies and practices in place to secure your information. CNIC Employees CU is not responsible for the use or disclosure of any information accessed by or on behalf of any third party or person to whom provide your credit union sign in credentials or account information. Any use of your information is governed by the privacy policy and any terms of use with that third party.

What we do
How does CN/IC Employees Credit Union protect my personal information? Security measures, as required by federal law, are in place to protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use. These measures include computer safeguards, secured files and buildings. Internal security controls, including physical, electronic and procedural safeguards are in place to protect the information you provide us and the information we collect about you.
Why can’t I limit all sharing? All financial companies need to share members’ personal information to run their everyday business. Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing

Online Policy All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will NOT be shared with any third parties.

CN/IC Employees Credit Union uses multiple layers of security including HTTPS when transmitting data in order to secure account information sent between our server and your browser. We use firewalls that are designed to protect your accounts from unauthorized access from outside CN/IC Employees Credit Union
Online Correspondence – We preserve the content of your e-mail, your e-mail address and our responses so that we can more efficiently handle any follow-up questions you may have.

Children’s Privacy
CN/IC Employees Credit Union does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13 without obtaining consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Linking to Third-Party Websites CN/IC Employees Credit Union provides links to websites that are owned or operated by other companies (“third-party websites”). When you access a link to visit a third-party website, you will be subject to that website’s privacy and security practices which may differ from ours. You should familiarize yourself with the privacy policy, terms of use and security practices of any third-party website before you provide information on that site.
Protection of Nonpublic Personal Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
Updates to Policy
The policy of CN/IC Employees Credit Union may change from time to time. When changes are made, we will post the revised policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Any changes will become effective when posted unless otherwise indicated.
