Why you cannot limit all sharing

Federal law gives consumers the right to limit only certain sharing, including some sharing among affiliates and sharing with nonaffiliates for their own marketing. CN/ICECU does not engage in those types of sharing. State law and individual companies may provide additional rights. The sharing CN/ICECU does engage in is for everyday business or other permitted purposes, its own marketing, joint marketing under an appropriate agreement, or occurs at your direction or with your consent; federal law does not provide an opt-out right for those disclosures.

Who receives information

Service providers. We may share information with companies that help administer our website, conduct surveys, provide technical support, process payments, or help fulfill services.

Joint marketing partner. We share members’ names and mailing addresses with a nonaffiliated insurance company so it can offer and administer complimentary accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. If a member returns a signed form to the insurer, the insurer may also offer that member optional paid coverage as part of the program.

Government, legal, and other authorized recipients. We may disclose information to comply with subpoenas, warrants, court orders, other legal process, or applicable law; establish or exercise our rights; defend legal claims; investigate or prevent suspected fraud or illegal activity; protect people or property; enforce our policies; or fulfill a service you request through a third-party intermediary.

Third parties you authorize. We may disclose information when you consent or direct us to do so. Use care when providing another person or company with your sign-in credentials or account information. CN/ICECU is not responsible for a third party’s use or disclosure of information it accesses on your behalf; that use is governed by the third party’s privacy policy and terms.
